Dear ECE student community,
I would like to remind you that the ECE department has a process for ECE students to apply for partial funding to attend conferences with DEI content.
With many conferences happening in Autumn 2024, such as SWE, SHPE, and NSBE in the Winter quarter, now is a great time to start reviewing the submission process and timeline.
Eligibility
– Must be an ECE matriculated student (any program level such as PhD, Daytime Masters, Professional Masters, or Undergrad)
– Must be registered during the quarter of travel
– Each eligible student will only be granted one award per academic year (July 1 – June 30)
– Submissions must be in by the deadline.
Guidelines
– This is a reimbursement process, meaning you need to pay for registration and travel up front and receive reimbursement after you return.

The deadline is at least 4 weeks before the conference to apply, which allows up to 2 weeks for a review and decision.
That said, the earlier you submit, the higher your chances of a communicated decision, so you may apply for a discounted early registration if approved.
