Graduate level conduction heat transfer, is ideal for students who wish to reinforce master’s level math proficiency through application to purely conducting thermal energy in steady, transient, multi-dimensional problems as well as composites, including isotropic and anisotropic solids. Assigned homework problems include comparison of exact analytical solutions with numerical results; use of ANSYS or Star CCM+ software is encouraged and supported. With advanced topics depending on class interest, ME 531 is offered MWF 8:30-9:20 am. This course will not be offered in winter 2022 (odd winters only).
