On December 11h we will hold the first live Zoom information session on Engineering Rome, a 2021 Early Fall (late August to Mid-September) UW Study Abroad Exploration Seminar.

What: Engineering Rome 2021 Study Abroad Information Session

Who: Steve Muench and Elyse Lewis, Program Directors

When: 1:30 p.m. to 2:20 p.m., Friday, December 11th, 2020

Where: online at: https://washington.zoom.us/j/97969369278

Who should attend?

Anyone interested in studying abroad with Engineering Rome. The class is open to all undergraduate and graduate students. You do not need to be a Civil and Environmental Engineering major, or even an Engineering major. You just need an interest in the subject: we will be nerding out on engineering – you have to be okay with that. If you have had math education up to, but not including, calculus you meet the technical qualifications.

About Engineering Rome

Engineering Rome is a UW Exploration Seminar that covers Roman and Italian engineering over a range of 3,000 years from Ancient Rome to the present day. It consists of one 5-credit course, CEE 409/509 Engineering Rome, which takes place in Rome, Italy at the UW Rome Center for three weeks during the 2021 Summer-Fall quarter break. There is also a once-per-week orientation session that meets in Spring 2021 to provide background information, and program orientation.

What About COVID-19 and related issues?

We are proceeding forward with Engineering Rome 2021 for an on-time start in Rome, Italy on 26 August 2021. We realize that the health and safety situation is fluid and will likely change between now and the departure date. If it does, we will keep students current with our best information, and make changes or even postponement if warranted. Any fee charged to you for a course that is cancelled will be fully refunded to you. You will not be charged for the course until after you complete it.
