The Applied Physics Laboratory, University of Washington is looking for a Junior or Senior (or Masters) who is a talented learner, has proven their ability to work hard to accomplish goals beyond routine classwork, works well on a team but needs minimal direction on a well-defined task, has good communication skills (including listening), is interested in or has been accepted to graduate school, is willing and able to get a security clearance (US citizens only, no F-1, no green card, due to clearance requirement).
This is for Underwater Acoustic Communications work. Relevant majors could be ME, ECE, PHYS, CS. Dates would be starting as soon as possible as a student employee at APL part-time with the potential to continue through Graduate School.
Desired Skills include: FPGA, DSP, Antenna design, Linux, Python, Matlab, PCB design, Git, High-Speed ADC, general soldering and hand tool use, SMT soldering and rework
