The Washington Superbike RSO is seeking highly motivated students from the Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science majors to join our Electrical Team. Students entering their freshman and sophomore years are particularly encouraged to apply.

The goal of Washington Superbike is to foster engineering excellence in UW students by designing an electric racing motorcycle. As a member of the Electrical Team, you will play a key role in developing the bike’s circuitry and embedded systems. Superbike is a student-centric, learning-focused RSO. Our goal is to deliver an engineering experience that will:

  • Support you to complete hands-on projects that will put your knowledge into practice
  • Enable you to learn new skills by doing
  • Provide collaboration and feedback with dedicated peers and mentors
  • Help you build a professional network

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Pursuing a B.S. or M.S. at the University of Washington
  • Able to commit 10 hours of work per week to the club
  • Possess strong written and oral communication skills
  • Be accessible through Slack and email

No prior experience with automotive mechanics is required. However, we expect applicants to demonstrate an enthusiasm and drive to learn new skills, as well as strong technical proficiency within the scope of your previous coursework.

The application process is meant to simulate what you will experience when applying to internships and jobs. The form will ask for your resume and cover letter; the other questions help us understand your interests and intended career focus (if any) so that we can offer you relevant interview questions. If selected to move forward, you will proceed to an interview, which includes both interpersonal questions and a series of technical questions.
