The Department of Engineering and Computer Science at Seattle Pacific University is seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Engineering. This position will start September 2022 and includes a regular nine-month teaching load of about 33 quarter credits, typically including a variety of courses throughout the undergraduate Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Computer Science curricula. The candidate will advise undergraduates, establish and maintain an active program of research/scholarship, and participate actively in the life of the department, the College of Arts and Sciences, and the University.  The Department of Engineering and Computer Science is part of the College of Arts and Sciences and offers a variety of undergraduate majors including Computer Engineering. Our mission is to cultivate a diverse and supportive Christian community to prepare our students to become effective team members and responsible servant-leaders by equipping them with theoretical knowledge and applied skills to create and use appropriate solutions in Engineering and Computing disciplines. All programs incorporate a significant hands-on component and include both an internship and a senior team capstone project.   

The requirements for this position include: A Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related or relevant field/specialization, though ABD candidates will also be considered.  Priority will be given to candidates with backgrounds in computer architecture, microcontrollers, robotics, operating systems, computer networks, communications, or IoT. Industry experience is valued, but not required. A commitment to undergraduate education is desired, along with evidence of the ability to teach, advise, and/or mentor underrepresented and first-generation college students.
