Please join us for a virtual student town hall on Tuesday 1/25, 3:30 – 4:30 pm PST. The session will focus on how we can support the movement for Indigenous sovereignty, particularly in light of the anti-Indigenous “land acknowledgement” written into the CSE 143 syllabus earlier this quarter. The session will feature Q&A with Owen Oliver, an Indigenous activist and graduate of the American Indian Studies department at UW, who will be sharing his perspectives on how we can support sovereign rights and the role that land acknowledgements play (in classrooms, departments, UW, and beyond).
In order to attend, RSVP is required. Please note, this is a space for listening, learning, and thinking about how we can take supportive action. This is not a debate about sovereign rights or land acknowledgements.
