We are a graduate student organization called Science Explorers [uwscienceexplorers.weebly.com]. We do outreach at a local elementary school and we’re currently looking for volunteers! What happens at the school? During the school year, our outreach consists of 1-hour science lessons every Thursday (3-4 PM). We work with 4th and 5th graders, typically in small groups consisting of 3 to 4 students per volunteer.

If you are interested in science outreach, please join us for an information session on Thursday, September 29th at 12:00 pm in ECE- Room 303. We will be providing pizza for lunch. Please RSVP for Pizza here in this google form [docs.google.com].

We’re always interested in recruiting both undergraduate and graduate students so please spread the word to your friends! If you can’t come to the meeting but are interested in volunteering, or if you have any questions, please send us an email (uwscienceexplorer@gmail.com). Lastly, Science Explorers is a wonderful way to give back to the community and meet fellow STEM students in other departments! It’s also a lot of fun! We hope to see you on Thursday!- Science Explorers
