ASPIRE, Academic Success via Postdoctoral Independence in Research and Education, is accepting applications for 2023. The deadline to apply is March 1, 2023.

ASPIRE is a 3 year post-doctoral fellowship program that combines the excellent laboratory research prowess of Johns Hopkins University with the undergraduate teaching expertise of our local HBCUs — Morgan and Coppin State Universities.

ASPIRE is a NIH funded specialized program focused on translational research, bringing together technological innovations and biomedical science to address major health problems in the United States and around the world. The research program is designed to train the future generation of biomedical scientists and engineers, who bridge the disciplines of biology, medicine, and engineering.

The program draws on expertise from faculty and mentors from three partnering institutions in Baltimore City located within five miles of each other: Johns Hopkins University, Morgan State University, and Coppin State University.  You can find more information in the attached brochure and here:  https://iracda.jhu.edu/ .

We still have spaces and are seeking those who meet the following criteria:

  • Receiving or has received a PhD or MD/PhD in engineering, computer science, biophysics, chemistry, molecular/cellular physiology, neuroscience, genetics, or related fields within the past two years
  • Interest in teaching underrepresented minorities
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident

We are accepting applications for a summer 2023 or later start.  If you have any questions about ASPIRE or the IRACDA program, please get in touch via email at aspire@jhu.edu.
