Lavender Graduation celebrities the LGBTQIA+ students on campus who may or may not otherwise have been acknowledged or celebrated visibly. Providing a space of radical joy of all expressions of families, friends, relationships, sexual and gender identities.
UW Bothell celebrated its first Lavender Graduation, in 2021, a ceremony amidst a global pandemic and stay at home measures as a digital celebration for the LGBTQIA+ students. It is our hope that this year in continuing the national legacy of Lavender Graduation and building the UWB trajectory we host the first in person lavender graduation celebration, a step towards community building, acceptance and joy for our LGBTQIA+ student communities.
This year’s ceremony will take place on Thursday, June 8th, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at the Activities and Recreation Center (ARC).
Registration is currently open until Wednesday, May 31st, 2023 so please help spread the word!
