Anton Paar is hosting a workshop event at WCET in November, and as part of this event they will be presenting the PNW Graduate Research Impact Award. Any graduate student at the University of Washington enrolled in a physical sciences or engineering program may apply. The top 4 semifinalists will receive recognition with 1st place as selected by an independent panel to receive an award plaque, $500 cash prize, and an invitation to speak at the “Pioneering Innovation in the PNW” event at WCET on Tuesday, November 14th. Each submission should describe research that will make significant contributions to the strategic and technological priorities of the Pacific Northwest.

Call for Submissions_PNW Graduate Research Impact Award

Anton Paar USA is requesting submissions for the PNW Graduate Research Impact Award. Any graduate student at the University of Washington enrolled in a physical sciences or engineering
program may apply. The top 4 semifinalists will receive recognition with 1st place as selected by our panel to receive an award plaque, a $500 cash prize, and an invitation to speak at Pioneering
Innovation in the PNW on Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at WCET. Each submission is expected to establish research that will make significant contributions to the strategic and technological
priorities of the Pacific Northwest.

The program parameters include:
• Each graduate student may submit one proposal (first 40 proposals accepted for review)
• $500 cash prize for recipient of the PNW Graduate Research Impact Award
• Requirement to present with PNNL and our special guest from the Seattle research community at Pioneering Innovation in the PNW

PNW Graduate Research Impact Award Priorities:
1. Submissions that demonstrate high achievement in research, data visualization, and storytelling.
2. Submissions that focus on infrastructure-building and economic development within the PNW.
3. Researchers with the potential to communicate a clear understanding of research conclusions and the broader implications on technology and innovation in the PNW.
Submission due date: October 31st, 2023 at midnight

Award Presentation: 12 PM – 1 PM, Tuesday, November 14th, 2023 at the Washington Clean Energy Testbeds
• Award recipient to present for 15 minutes with our honorary speakers as part of our “PNW Difference Makers” Symposium
