GradSWE Committees
Professional Development Committee: This committee focuses on cultivating mentorships between SWE members and industry professionals to expand networks, provide career trajectory guidance, and engage in professional development.
Examples of past events: Quarterly Industry Networking Happy Hours, Marketing your research for Grad School and Beyond workshops, Women in Academia Panel, etc.
Academics Committee: Academics Committee members will work together to foster academic networking and guidance through organizing research opportunities and mentorship programs.
Examples of past events: Workshops on Mentoring Undergraduate Students, Effective Strategies for Managing a Research Project, How to select a Grad School etc.
Outreach Committee: As an Outreach Committee member, you’ll be joining a team that works to provide STEM education and resources to UW students as well as underserved schools in the Greater Seattle area.
Examples of past events: Research Lab Tours for High School and Undergraduate Students, Science Demonstrations for Elementary Schoolers, etc.
