As we approach this year’s 2024 Undergraduate Research Symposium, we are currently trying to fill a couple more of our essential volunteer roles. If you, or someone you know, is able to support us at this time, we would be beyond appreciative to have you join us! Below are our current open roles and times.
Oral Session Assistants (17 May, 2024 11:15am to 1:00 pm) [2 volunteers]
We are currently seeking two oral session assistants to support students’ oral presentations. These specific sessions cover both animal biology and marine biology and take place during our first oral session (1). This role requires a brief training, which is being offered Friday, 10 May 2024, and through a pre-recording option if you’re not able to attend.
Pre-event Set-up (17 May 2024, 8am to 10am) [5 – 7 volunteers]
We are so grateful to see the Symposium growing larger this year and including multiple locations across the Seattle campus! With this growth, we are seeking support in setting up morning-of for the events throughout Mary Gates Hall, the HUB Lyceum, Meany Hall, and Allen Library. This will require individuals okay with movement and carrying light objects and use of comfy shoes.
Post-event Tear down (17 May 2024, 5pm to 6pm) [7+ volunteers]
After a long, joyous day celebrating research, curiosity, and most importantly, undergraduate students, we find ourselves seeking support in wrapping up the event. This will require individuals okay with movement and carrying light objects and use of comfy shoes.
