Hello ECE Graduate Students and Recent Graduates,

The UW Commencement and ECE Graduation Celebrations are just a few months away, so we have prepared a website for you with information about ECE’s Graduation Celebration which will also include information about registering for the UW Commencement and ordering your regalia (cap, gown, hood). Please review the information below for more details about each ceremony. 

ECE Graduation:

  • Date and time: Wednesday, June 11, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (PT) at UW HEC Ed Pavilion. (Students arrive by 6:15 pm for check-in and procession line up. Dress Code: UW graduation regalia or semi-formal attire.) 

  • There is no limit to the number of guest tickets for the ECE graduation celebration. YAY!

  • Eligibility: Students who graduated in Autumn 2024/ Winter 2025 or plan to graduate in Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 are eligible to participate in this year’s graduation celebration. For the spring 2025 and Summer 2025 graduates, please see the additional information below to ensure that you are meeting all graduation celebration requirements and deadlines.

  • ECE Graduation Celebration Registration will be open from March 10 – May 25. Even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony, please register here so that you are able to order your regalia (cap/gown/hood). 

    • Your record name on file with the University will be used in the program, unless you request not to be listed at all or request your preferred name (or chosen name) on file to be used. Please indicate your preference in the Registration survey.  

UW Commencement:

  • Date and time: Saturday, June 14, 1:30 p.m. at Husky Stadium, https://www.washington.edu/graduation/. Doors open at 12:30 pm.

  • Eligibility: Students who graduated in Summer 2024, Autumn 2024, Winter 2025 or are candidates to graduate in Spring 2025 or Summer 2025. Make sure to review eligibility information on their website. 

  • UW Commencement Program: If you plan to graduate in Spring 2025 and would like your name to appear in the Commencement program, the deadline to submit your master’s requests or schedule your doctoral final exam has passed, but you are still able to attend if you RSVP by May 25th. If you plan to graduate in Summer 2025, your name will appear in next year’s UW program (2026). 

  • UW Commencement Registration will be open from May 7 to May 25. Even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony, please register here so that you are able to order your regalia (cap/gown/hood). 

**NOTE**: You will need to Register for the UW and ECE ceremonies separately, even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony, so that you can order your regalia (cap/gown/hood). 

Spring and Summer 2025 Graduates:

Please read the following in addition to the ceremony information if you plan to complete your degree in the Spring or Summer quarter and intend to participate in the ECE Graduation Celebration and/or UW Commencement. If you haven’t already graduated or applied to graduate, the deadline to apply to graduate has passed to have your name printed in the UW Commencement program. The deadline for you to apply to graduate and be included in the ECE Commencement program is Thursday, May 8th.  To make the deadline for Spring, please make sure to:

  • MS Students – Submit your master’s degree request.

  • PhD Students – Schedule your doctoral final exam.

  • PhD and MS Thesis Students – you may update/change the date, time and add a room/ Zoom location for your exam later, but for now – enter your best guess for date/time/location.

  • Summer 2025 Graduates: Please fill out this quick Google form if you are planning to complete your degree requirements in the Summer quarter. Since you are not able to apply for your Master’s Request or Final Exam until summer quarter I will need to keep a list and submit that to ECE Events to ensure that you will be included in the ECE Graduation Celebration program.
