The Neuromechanics and Mobility Lab has an opening for a team of 2-3 master’s students to assist with a project investigating the use of GPS-enabled smartwatches (Coros, Garmin, Polar) to provide personalized recovery tracking after ankle injury. Student researchers will design a study to quantify the accuracy and reliability of the consumer-grade smartwatches. Student researchers will

  1. Collect data from consumer-grade wearables in a controlled environment and
  2. Compare data from smartwatches to gold-standard measures to quantify accuracy and reliability.

Prior coding experience is recommended. Successful students may be encouraged to submit conference abstracts to present at local research symposia upon completion of this work.
