Electrical Engineering Intern will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions to real world challenges and learn, design, test and take part in manufacturing activities in a fast-paced, creative, avionics and defense manufacturing company. Responsibilities may include research, design, development, and testing of electronics packaging of interface panels products and systems for aerospace and ground applications as well as creating or improving technical processes within the company. The Electrical Engineering intern is responsible for providing support and assistance to technical teams to ensure design goals are met.
Project Description
The Electrical engineering intern will help develop and implement designs for Korry electronics products impacting in the Utility Control Systems Business Unit. These may include but are not limited to:
- Work with Systems and Mechanical Engineering Interns on a project to develop a replacement for the current Programmable Interface Module
- Perform circuit design, analysis, testing, and documentation to improve an existing product or account for obsolescence.
- Analyze and troubleshoot circuit boards with the help of technicians and quality engineers.
The ideal candidate will also support design activities including troubleshooting legacy design issues, recommending solutions and implementing engineering change orders to resolve them in a timely manner.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Participate on project teams to support new product design and sustaining activities
- Work closely with Senior Engineering Staff to define solutions to challenging engineering projects and author design change activities
- Interface with hardware design, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve time-sensitive problems
- Performs special projects/tasks as assigned.
Preferred Education
- You must be actively working towards your Electrical Engineering Degree
Preferred Specialized Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills
- Basic understanding of engineering concepts
- Exposure to electronic design and analysis tools such as PSpice
- Experience with Microsoft office products
- Able to work independently and in a team setting
- Eager to work with many different disciplines at Korry
Physical Requirements:
- Availability to work onsite in Everett, 5 days per week
- Frequent use of personal computers, database and digital platforms, and other office productivity machinery, such as copy machines and computer printers.
- Frequently uses hands, fingers, and arms to reach, handle, touch or feel equipment, materials, and computer.
- The person in this position needs to frequently move inside the office.
- Frequent close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
Salary Range
Please note the typical hiring range is Freshman/Sophomore $28.00 Junior/Senior $31.00 hourly.
