Hello Graduate Students,

The start of the school year is quickly approaching! The graduate student section of Society of Women Engineers (GradSWE) at UW has been working hard to organize professional development opportunities for you this fall. Our events are open to all genders. A summary flyer is attached.

Apply today for a fee waiver to WE20, the national SWE conference. We can cover a limited amount of student registrations. Applications are due Friday September 18, and we will notify awardees by the following Wednesday September 23. Link: http://tinyurl.com/gradswe-we20

Join us virtually for a resume workshop with the Career Center @ Engineering. We are excited to start off the school year with a grad-oriented resume building workshop! Please join Grad SWE in this special resume workshop with Gail Cornelius, the Director of the Career Center @ Engineering (CC@E)! Gail (she/her/hers) has her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Industrial Engineering and spent 18 years at The Boeing Company in various roles ranging from Engineering, Supplier Management, and Product Strategy, as well as recruiting. Gail will be sharing tips, answering audience questions, and reviewing resumes during the workshop. This workshop will be from 1-2PM on Tuesday, September 22nd. Please register here by 11:59pm on Sunday September 20 to receive the Zoom passcode and link.

Interested in entrepreneurship or the startup world? We have partnered with the Buerk Center, CoMotion, the College of Engineering, and other campus groups to put on a series of networking events that will allow you to meet the community, share resources, and ideas, and ask questions about being an entrepreneur at UW! The workshops will be from 2-3PM on October 1, November 5, and December 3. Please register here to receive meeting details and stay informed about upcoming opportunities.

Mentor engineering upperclassmen through the SWEster program. We are building off the thriving undergraduate mentorship program by pairing interested graduate students with upperclassmen undergraduate students. Please register to join our grad student mentoring group. The program will launch in October! Link: https://tinyurl.com/uwswester
