Smart Cities are no longer a futuristic dream of science fiction writers but they are emerging as a
reality in research labs, industry, and increasingly, in everyday life. UNLV’s REU Smart Cities aims
to educate and inspire undergraduate researchers to address the challenges of building
intelligent, safe, and secure Smart Cities with a focus on mobility.

• 10-week research program: June 3 – Aug 7, 2021
• $6,000 stipend
• Mentored by UNLV faculty member
• Seeking undergraduate applicants from a broad
array of diverse backgrounds who are majoring in
electrical or computer engineering or CS

 

Covid-19 Impact: While we plan on having a full research program for Summer 2021, state and
campus policy will dictate whether the program is in-person or remote.
