ABOUT CELEBRATION
This scholarship fundraiser honors the academic excellence of EOP students and the Charles E. Odegaard Award recipient.
This year’s recipient is Emile Pitre, ’69. As a UW graduate student in the 1960s, Pitre was a founding member of the UW Black Student Union whose calls for equity to then-President Odegaard led to the establishment of OMA&D. Since then, he has spent over three decades with the organization, serving in various roles including tenures as director of the Instructional Center and associate vice president for assessment.
