The School of Public Health Deans Advisory Council for Students movie screening and discussion of ‘How to Survive a Plague’ starring Dr. Fauci on 05/19
Join fellow SPH DACS students and UW community members to watch the documentary, “How to Survive a Plague”, followed by an expert-guided discussion about the HIV/AIDS epidemic and the impactful work of activists. Dr. Anthony Fauci is featured in the film, as he was in the early days of his public health career when the HIV/AIDS epidemic hit. Various themes will be discussed such as activism, public health, and living through an emerging epidemic. Our additional panel of speakers brings a diverse background of perspectives and experiences working in these themes. Through the shared film and discussion, we aim to guide productive conversation and build community across the School of Public School.
On Wednesday, May 19, we will be holding the screening from 6:00-7:50 pm. The discussion will be shortly after, from 7:50-8:30 pm. You can watch the documentary on your own if you are not able to join us for the screening. Any University of Washington student/staff/faculty is welcome to join.
