The University of Washington Master of Science in Data Science is seeking teaching assistants to support this upcoming Winter Quarter course, DATA 557, Applied Statistics and Experimental Design (Link to UW Handshake, only available to UW Bothell & UW Seattle students). This position will average 20 hours per week. The course will meet 1 day per week for 5 hours per session during Winter Quarter 2022 on Wednesdays from 5pm to 10pm.
Responsibilities may include some or all of the following duties: facilitate activities explicitly stated in the syllabus, prepare and grade assignments, maintain grading records, prepare and maintain course records, calculate quarter grades, request student assessments for course, attend lectures, hold regular office hours, tutor students, manage and respond to course-related email, prepare and maintain Canvas site for course materials, develop and maintain online communications and discussion sites, attend weekly instructor/TA meetings, act as liaison between student and instructor, prepare and present lecture materials, prepare handout materials, review literature, facilitate discussions, hold extra review sessions for subject matter expertise, and review specific list of assigned duties and responsibilities with the instructor.
Requirements:
● Minimum registration to hold this appointment is 10 credits or petition for a reduced credit load.
● Successfully completed Calculus III, Linear Algebra, two introductory computer programming courses, and equivalent statistics course

● Excellent communication and technology skills
