UW Commencement and ECE Graduation Celebrations are just a few months away, so we have prepared a website for you to register for ECE’s Graduation Celebration which will include info about registering for the UW Commencement and ordering your regalia (cap, gown, hood). Please review the information below for more details about each ceremony. 

Spring and Summer 2022 Graduates: Please read the following if you plan to complete your degree in the Spring or Summer quarter and intend to participate in the ECE Graduation and/or UW Commencement. If you haven’t already graduated or applied to graduate, make sure you apply to graduate by the April 15th deadline to have your name printed in the Commencement program. To make the deadline for Spring, please make sure to:

  • MS Students – Submit your master’s degree request.
  • PhD Students – Schedule your doctoral final exam.
  • PhD and MS Thesis Students – you may update/change the date, time and add a room/ Zoom location for your exam later, but for now – enter your best guess for date/time/location.
  • Summer 2022 Graduates: Please fill out this quick Google form if you are planning to complete your degree requirements in the Summer quarter. Since you are not able to apply for your Master’s Request or Final Exam until the summer quarter I will need to keep a list and submit that to ECE Events to ensure that you will be included in the ECE commencement program. ECE Graduate Candidates – Summer 2022

ECE Graduation:

  • Date and time: Wednesday, June 8, 7 pm – 9:00 pm at UW HEC Ed Pavilion. (Students arrive by 6:15 pm for check-in and procession line up. Dress Code: UW graduation regalia or semi-formal attire.)
  • Eligibility: Students who graduated in Summer 2019 through Winter 2022, or plan to graduate in Spring 2022 and Summer 2022 are eligible to participate in this year’s unique graduation ceremony.
  • ECE Commencement Registration will be open from March 28 – May 22. Even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony, please register here so that you are able to order your regalia (cap/gown/hood).

UW Commencement:

  • Date and time: Saturday, June 11, 1:30 p.m. at Husky Stadium, https://www.washington.edu/graduation/
  • Eligibility: Students who graduated in Summer 2021, Autumn 2021, Winter 2022 or are candidates to graduate in Spring 2022 or Summer 2022. Make sure to review eligibility information on their website. 
  • Graduates from 2020 and 2021 are eligible to participate in a separate Return to Husky Stadium Graduation Celebration and will receive a separate email communication.
  • UW Commencement Program: If you plan to graduate in Spring 2022 and would like your name to appear in the Commencement program, submit your master’s requests or schedule your doctoral final exam no or apply for later than April 15. If you plan to graduate in the Summer 2022, your name will appear in the 2023 next year’s UW program. 
  • UW Commencement Registration will be open from May 4-May 22. Even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony, please register here so that you are able to order your regalia (cap/gown/hood).

Grad Fair:

  • April 6 and 7, 10 am – 5 p.m., University Book Store
  • Check the UW Commencement website for details.
  • View announcements, diploma frames and rings in person.

You will need to Register for the UW and ECE ceremonies separately, even if you only plan to attend the ECE ceremony so that you are able to order your regalia (cap/gown/hood).
