STEM Pals [stempals.club] is a team of UW students, postdocs, and faculty doing outreach for high school students in underserved communities. Our goal is to increase high school engagement in STEM via interactive activities, mentorship, and resource-sharing. You can learn more about us via our website [stempals.club].
We are seeking new members and leaders to join us. No prior experience is needed! Your commitment can be dynamic, and you will have complete agency over your responsibilities.
If you are interested in learning more about us, please attend our virtual information session on Thursday, October 13th at 5:00 PM using this zoom link [washington.zoom.us] [https://washington.zoom.us/j/95107520218 [washington.zoom.us]]. We will also have a casual in-person potluck at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 16th. We will meet outside the Physics/Astronomy Auditorium, by the sculpture of the pz orbital (a.k.a. the peanut). If you cannot make either of these events, we will gladly meet with you separately to share more about ourselves.
To introduce yourself and stay in the loop, simply email us [stementorship@uw.edu], join our Slack workspace [join.slack.com], and/or subscribe to our mailing list!
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions, and to forward this email to (grad/undergrad/postdoc/faculty) peers in other departments!
Together, we shall encourage, inspire, and (ST)empower.
Yours Truly,
