UW ECE faculty and graduating students,
I am looking forward to the upcoming UW ECE 2023 Graduation Ceremony, which will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, in the UW Hec Edmundson Pavilion. This year, in addition to my usual remarks and an address given by a guest speaker, we are selecting two students (one undergraduate and one master’s or doctoral student) to each deliver a speech at the Ceremony.
Students who are graduating, this is an opportunity for you to represent your class and express what graduating from UW ECE means to you to a large audience made up of fellow graduates, family members and friends of the Department. UW ECE will provide the selected student speakers guidance and assistance with writing a speech that aligns with the event.
I encourage all students whose graduation date is between autumn quarter 2022 and summer quarter 2023, and who will be attending the 2023 UW ECE Graduation Ceremony, to consider applying online. The deadline for online applications is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 28. Students who are selected to speak at Graduation will be notified by email.
Faculty, please ensure that graduating students you teach and advise are aware of this speaking opportunity and have the link to the online application form.
