We’re excited to announce the selection of the 2023 Bonderman Travel Fellows!

UW students traveling with this $23,000 fellowship set off on journeys that are at least five months long and take them to at least four countries. While traveling, students may not pursue academic study, projects, or research. Established in 1995, this fellowship aims to expose students to the intrinsic, often life-changing, benefits of international travel.

The graduate/professional* fellows are:

  • Erica Victoria Adams, Information Management
  • Shelby Iwatani Cramer, Public Administration
  • Jay L. Cunningham, Human Centered Design and Engineering
  • Chinazom Oleru, Cultural Studies ‘23
  • Katt Purington, Social Work ‘23
  • Samuel Roller, Middle East Studies ‘23
  • Courtney Skalley, Marine Affairs
  • Gus Smith, Computer Science and Engineering

To read more about these fellows and their travel plans please see the Bonderman Fellowship website.

*As many of you are aware, this year we paused the undergraduate selection process for the Bonderman fellowship in order to support the queue of 2020 & 2021 fellows preparing for delayed departures due to COVID-19.

Best,
