It is our pleasure to invite students in ECE departments to apply to participate in Impact: Redefining Electrical and Computer Engineering Faculty (iREDEFINE), an ECEDHA- and NSF-sponsored workshop designed to increase the number of women and underrepresented minorities (URMs) among the faculty in ECE departments.
As in past years, iREDEFINE will be held in parallel with the annual meeting of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA) Annual Conference & ECExpo. The iREDEFINE Fellows will have dedicated programming designed to encourage and facilitate their path into academia. The close ties with ECEDHA provides a unique opportunity for the iREDEFINE Fellows to also attend general ECEDHA sessions, present their research to department chairs and participate in mock interviews. This year iREDEFINE will take place March 15-18, 2024, at the El Conquistador Hilton in Tucson, Arizona. iREDEFINE Fellows will receive a professional development award to cover registration to the ECEDHA Annual Conference, hotel accommodations, meals, and travel expenses.
iREDEFINE Eligibility
Eligible candidates are PhD students who are women or URMs, no more than two years away from the completion of their PhD degree. Eligible candidates must also have a strong interest in an academic career. U.S. Citizenship is not required.
iREDEFINE Application process
Students are asked to complete the online application located here by Friday, January 12, 2024. Fellows will be selected by the iREDEFINE committee. Successful applicants will be notified by January 26, 2024.
