KC Wastewater Treatment Career Trek Flyer 2025
Friday, February 21st from 10am – 1pm – Career Trek at the King County Wastewater Treatment Facility
Are you an ECE student interested in innovative power systems? Think outside the box and join us for a tour of the King County Wastewater Treatment Division’s new battery system! This 16.8-megawatt system powers critical pumps, preventing voltage sags and ensuring stable operations. Learn how the system is integrated with over 48,000 battery cells and how solar panels provide clean energy for the facility’s operations. It’s a unique opportunity to see cutting-edge technology in action and gain insights into real-world applications of energy storage and sustainability! (You can read more about this facility HERE.)
PLEASE NOTE: This is a space-constrained event. You must register via Handshake to attend. Please only register if you can commit to attending. Students must find their own transportation to the facility. (If you do not have a Handshake account, you may not be able to register. However, ALL UW students have access to Handshake for free, so create your account, and then you should be able to register!)
