GEEKWIRE Seeking Volunteers!
Are you an ECE student eager to get a front-row seat to the local tech scene? GeekWire—the Pacific Northwest’s leading source for tech news—is hosting its annual flagship event: GeekWire Awards. The much-anticipated and hotly contested GeekWire Awards celebrate the top innovators, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders in the Pacific Northwest.
Tickets normally cost $275. However, they need volunteers to support the event, so volunteers attend for free! This is a fantastic way to meet people from the top tech companies in the area. One student volunteer from last month’s event made a connection that landed her a job!
Details: (10 volunteers needed)
- Date: Thursday, May 7, 2026
- Location: Showbox SoDo – 1700 1st Ave S, Seattle
- Event Time: 5:30-9:30 pm
- Volunteer Arrival Time: 11:00 am and 1:30 pm
- Potential Responsibilities: assisting with set-up/breakdown (including signage and decor); providing registration support; handing out drink tickets; directing traffic; disseminating pertinent information to attendees; miscellaneous tasks
- Requirements: 21+
