GSEE is Hiring a 2026-7 Graduate Staff Assistant (GSA)
We are excited to announce that we are searching for a GSA to join our team for the 2026-2027 academic year.
The Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence seeks one part-time (50%) GSA to support programming, events, and communications that foster belonging, connection, and professional growth for graduate students at the University of Washington. Working as part of a highly collaborative team, the GSA will help advance outreach, recruitment, retention, and student engagement efforts for graduate students from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. This appointment runs from September 16, 2026, through June 15, 2027. Graduate students enrolled full-time at the University of Washington are eligible to apply.

We are recruiting new members for the 2026-2027 OGSS Graduate Student Advisory Board (GSAB). The Office of Graduate Student Success (OGSS) includes the Office of Graduate Student Equity & Excellence (GSEE) and Graduate Student Affairs (GSA).
The GSAB Application deadline is Monday, August 10, 2026 at 11:59 pm PDT.
OGSS is seeking board members to improve and uplift the following aspects of OGSS’ work:
- First-Generation and diverse graduate student belonging
- Quarterly Programming & Events
- UW campus outreach and partnerships
- Peer Mentorship
- Creating and maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment at UW
Participating in GSAB is on a voluntary basis. Board Members will have opportunities to develop the following competencies and transferable skills:
- Active listening in a collaborative setting and ability to provide constructive feedback
- Serving as a liaison among peers, The Graduate School and administrative leadership
- Contribute insights to inform the OGSS mission
- Provide feedback on programming that promotes inclusive communities on campus
- Optional participation: peer outreach, student panels, public speaking at events
Apply to be a 2026-7 Outreaching Grad (OG)
The Outreaching Grads (OG) Program supports GSEE, academic departments, and student organizations as they enhance outreach and recruitment efforts for prospective and incoming, graduate students from diverse perspectives and experiences. The OG Program introduces graduate students to opportunities and resources that help build community within the framework of the graduate student cycle.
Becoming an OG is a way to give back to our communities, create meaningful friendships, and ensure graduate opportunities remain open to all. OGs will also benefit from:
- Creating new connections with prospective and current graduate students during OG orientation and beyond
- Gaining leadership strengths, public speaking expertise, and other professional skill sets
- Expanding social and professional networks
- Building professional and community involvement skills that will enhance career goals
