Dear Faculty and Students,

The ECE Department is now collecting nominations for four distinct 2025 awards:

  1. The Distinguished Master’s Thesis Award
  2. The Distinguished Dissertation Award
  3. The WAGS/UMI Outstanding Innovation in Technology Award
  4. Graduate School Medal

We are using one Google form below to collect nominations for any of these awards. You can use the “Next” button to move to the award page for which you wish to nominate.

Nomination Guidelines:

  • Faculty and students may submit nominations.
  • Students who self-nominate through this form must check with their faculty advisor to ensure a nomination letter of support.
  • The department may only submit one nominee per award. 

Deadlines:

Graduate School Medal:

  • April 1, 2025, 11:59 PM – ECE nomination form (We ask for the names of the letter writers, not the letters themselves)
  • April 1, 2025, 11:59 PM – Faculty advisor letter (We need at least this one crucial letter from the faculty advisor to make a final decision)

Distinguished Master’s Thesis, Distinguished Dissertation, WAGS/UMI Innovation in Technology Award:

  • April 7, 2025, 11:59 PM – ECE nomination form (We ask for the names of the letter writers, not the letters themselves)
  • April 14, 2025, 11:59 PM – Faculty advisor letter (We need at least this one crucial letter from the faculty advisor to make a final decision)
  • April 21, 2025, 11:59 PM – Remaining letters and materials (We will contact the faculty nominator and student who is selected to obtain the remaining documents based on the award)
