YOUR STEPS TO A GREAT COMMENCEMENT DAY
· Master’s and Doctoral Candidates
Graduates are eligible to participate if they
- earned their degrees in Summer 2025, Autumn 2025, or Winter 2026,
- submitted their master’s degree request or scheduled their final exam (doctoral) with the Graduate School for Spring 2026, or
- have a reasonable expectation of graduating in Summer 2026. (Summer 2026 graduates only:Those who plan on participating in a graduation event should consult with their graduate program advisor (GPA) to make sure the degree code accurately reflects the degree they plan to earn.)
· Graduates not attending Commencement
Graduates not attending Commencement in Husky Stadium will also need to complete the Registration/Order Form to order cap & gown or parking permits.
- Names Listed in Program: The Commencement program lists the names of graduates from Summer 2025 through Spring 2026. Summer 2026 graduates’ names will be listed in the following year’s program. If you have not graduated or submitted your application to graduate, you must do the following by April 17th to be included in the program:
- Bachelor’s – Meet with your departmental advisor to complete your graduation application.
- Master’s – Submit your online master’s degree request.
- Doctoral – Schedule final exam.
Important Note: You will be receiving information from the Office of the Registrar or the Graduate School via your UW.edu email on the process you need to follow to either 1) select a “Commencement Program Name,” if desired, or 2) request not to be listed in the Commencement Program. If you do not follow this process, your record name on file with the University will be used in the program. Please watch your email for this information and pay attention to any stated deadlines.
- Come to Grad Fair! April 8 & 9, 10:00 am. to 5:00 pm at the University Book Store.
At the Fair, you’ll see announcements, frames, rings and souvenir items for purchase. Photographers will be there to take your graduation portrait (cap & gown provided by the Office of Ceremonies). Dubs will be available for photos on 4/8, 11:15 am to 12:15 pm and 4/9, 2:00 – 3:00 pm.
Sign Up and Order Apparel, Parking Permits, and Guest Tickets online
Register/Place your order online: May 11 – May 24 at www.graduation.uw.edu. Prepare beforehand. Will any of your guests need disability parking, wheelchair or mobility impaired seating? Translation services? Assistive listening devices? Are some viewing the ceremony remotely? You’ll be asked about all of these possibilities.
Husky Stadium Ceremony: Participants must register and order tickets, pre-paid special event parking permits, and apparel no later than May 24 via the above website. Payment will be taken online when finalizing your order. Visa, MasterCard, or debit card.
Apparel purchase prices: Bachelor apparel – $61.00 + tax, Master’s apparel – $86.00 + tax, Professional and PhD apparel – $100.00 + tax.
Parking Permits: All parking permits for Commencement or School, College, Departmental or student group graduation events on campus (June 2 – June 14) are at special event parking rates. Purchase parking permits ($20.00 prepaid) online through the Registration/Order Form.
Individual School/College or Departmental Ceremony participants must order via the above website by May 24, if your ceremony requires apparel or parking permits. Payment will be taken online.
- Pick Up Your Order at the University Book Store: June 2 – June 6. Students will select specific pickup dates online.
- Come to Husky Stadium, June 13, at 12:00 pm. and celebrate! CONGRATULATIONS!
